There's a novel peak flow meter on the market called AirWatch.

AirWatch is unique because it transmits the patient's peak expiratory flow and FEV1 readings electronically over a telephone line. A report is then faxed to the physician for monitoring. Patients also receive a report each month.

Patients typically use the AirWatch twice a day and send their data in once a month. But readings can be sent more often...especially in case of an emergency.
