Benicar (olmesartan), a new angiotensin receptor blocker for hypertension

Reps will soon be promoting Benicar (olmesartan), a new angiotensin receptor blocker for hypertension.

It will be the seventh one on the market...after Cozaar (losartan), Diovan (valsartan), Avapro (irbesartan), Atacand (candesartan), Micardis (telmisartan), and Teveten (eprosartan).

Reps might tell you that Benicar is more effective...but don't get too excited. It's pretty much a "me-too."
