Mirapex (pramipexole) for Parkinson's
The FDA just approved Mirapex (pramipexole) for Parkinson's. It's the first new drug for Parkinson's since Eldepryl (selegiline) was approved almost ten years ago.
Mirapex is a dopamine agonist...similar to Permax (pergolide) and Parlodel (bromocriptine).
Mirapex works at least as well as bromocriptine...and might cause fewer serious side effects. That's because Mirapex ISN'T an ergot derivative like Permax and Parlodel.
