Is it ever appropriate to COMBINE an ACE inhibitor and angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB)?
The combo has additive effects to block angiotensin II. But it only makes sense in some situations.
Hypertension. Combining an ACE inhibitor and ARB is not a good first choice. If a patient is already on an ACE inhibitor or ARB, add a diuretic or drug from another class.
